That cross from Josh Brownhill

Post by ecc » Sun Feb 12, 2023 5:04 pm

We know Josh can't take a free-kick to save his life but can he whip in corners and crosses. Didn't see the match but having seen the goals his cross for NT's first was superb. He hits the ball with so much style. Right on Tella's head.

I sit in BL stand, right in line with penalty spot. When he trapped the ball, on return from his corner, he shaped to put a cross straight back in but cut outside and fired in a fantastic in-swinging cross - rest history!

Top notch. Some PNE fans I know were amazed how much he's come on since he was there.

Nothing against Josh as I'm a big fan, but the defending from PNE was shocking for the first goal. The player on Brownhill moved in slow motion and Tella looked unmarked.

And the Knobbers were booing Josh as he went to take that corner. He soon shut em up.

One from the top drawer. So good to see Brownhill developing. He’s had his doubters, but no reason he cannot be a fixture in our midfield for a good few years, beyond his use as a bo-to-box. He certainly doesn’t look like a players that takes it for granted, so he’s just going to get better.

Agreed, good cross but had he failed to get it to Tella with the acres of space he was in, questions would have been asked.

The photo on the BBC match report gives a great view of Ash creating those acres of space for Tella.

He was similarly obstructive for the second.

Our crossing has become as well honed as the rest of our play. It seems our crosses are going to precisely the right place at the moment. You can add the second at Norwich and Jordan’s goal against Coventry to Josh’s cross yesterday. None of those were speculative floats into the box; they were all perfect height in places where only our itk players would expect the ball to be.

Tella never moved when the corner was headed back to Brownhill until he scored. Just watch him

Another thing that's improved is throw-ins....Maatsen usually throws it right to one of our players..right on the money. It used to make no difference at all who's throw in it was, the other team ended up with the ball......always irritated me.

i once remember screaming at Kurt Nogan for not making any attempt to find space at throw ins, it's been a very long standing issue for us
