F1 season 2023
Yep! it's that time of the year again when this jamboree gets underway with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Aston Martin surprisingly setting the early pace ahead of the usual trio of Red Bull, Mercedes & Ferrari.
Hard not to see Max topping the standings come the autumn, but hopefully a more competitive season than last.

Re: F1 season 2023
Normal service is resumed after qualifying it seems. Another red bull year.
Strange how Mercedes and Alonso did their final runs so early.
Bits falling off the Ferraris and reliability issues again, no change there.

Bored with it already. Lost interest when Verstappen was gifted the championship by a corrupt official. Then last year they went over budget and all they got was a fine which was pointless. This year will be a repeat as none of the other teams will get close to Red Bull.

Re: F1 season 2023
In 2021 when Verstappen was "gifted" the championship he won more races than any other driver.Firthy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 5:27 pmBored with it already. In 2022 Red Bull did not go over budget, the budget issue refers to the 2021 season where they went over budget £400,000 and they did not just get a fine, they have 10% less time testing the aero-dynamics of the car in the wind tunnel (added on the less time they receive due to being Constructor Champions). Whilst it won't have huge effect on the car right now as this was pretty much developed before they were penalised, as the season progresses and other teams bring in new upgrades you will see the Red Bull dominance falter (as long as the other team's upgrades are good).

A Red Bull procession so far, Alonso doing well to climb to 3rd, Lewis trailing badly in 5th,
Re: F1 season 2023
That was a satisfying first race.
Well done to Alonso driver of the day

Re: F1 season 2023
And yet here you are on the clarets website supporting a team who is miles in front, unchallenged quite a lot.
I'm just enjoying my team being second in the championship. I doubt that it will last as we don't have much money, but it's a bit of a novelty after following force India for years. Our "ex" perez on pole, too.
Re: F1 season 2023
The only entertainment today will be watching Verstappen work his way through the filed to win. I think Perez is the only one capable of preventing it but not sure he'll be allowed to.

Re: F1 season 2023
Another Red Bull procession, now the question is will Perez be ordered to let Max through for the win, or will they have a proper race.
Alonso enjoying a good day again sitting in 3rd.

Re: F1 season 2023
Alonso given a 10 second penalty, demotes him to 4th.

Re: F1 season 2023
Absolute ********.
There are loads of 5 second penalties given, the jackmen get in position and after 5 seconds, work starts.
Furthermore, 5 seconds should be added at the end of the race if the penalty has "not been served". I've no idea where they've found 10 seconds from?

Re: F1 season 2023
5 seconds was the originally penalty for the starting infringement, the jack was then touching the car before the 5 seconds were up (which is not allowed) resulting in a 10 second penalty, same as what happened with Ocon in Bahrain.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 7:35 pmAbsolute ********.

Re: F1 season 2023
Yes and the penalty wasn't served. There is no reason why it shouldn't be tacked on at the end of the race such as if they'd decided not (attempt) to do it.
Why are teams double penalised for attempting to do it Vs not doing it?
