What's the walk out music?
What's the walk out music?
As the title says, does anybody know what the walk out music is at the turf? Think it's brilliant personally, best we've had since Arcade Fire.
Re: What's the walk out music?
Will do an ask google "name this tune" next match day if no-one tells you

Nowt'll beat Tom Hark for me.
Re: What's the walk out music?
It's a Brighton song. The band was from Brighton. The album cover is littered with pictures of Brighton.
But then we aren't likely to be playing Brighton for a year or two.

I'd like to beat whoever chose that music in the first place
Re: What's the walk out music?
Tubthumping by Chumbawumba ... Burnley lads in the band even if there are Leeds fans mainly in the band

Re: What's the walk out music?
It’s also the song that is in all the player announcement videos.
Re: What's the walk out music?
I'm not too sure about that, there's a picture of the 1959/60 Championship winning team open top bus parade, and a credit to Jimmy Mullen's Claret and Blue Army in the sleeve of Shhh!
Re: What's the walk out music?
I seem to remember Jump by Van Halen back in the day. Always liked that.

Chris Waddle introduced that I think. Prior to that it was (somewhat ironically given our league status) Simply the Best by Tina Turner

Re: What's the walk out music?
The song might well have been made in Leeds, but the band were formed in Burnley. One of the band members went to Burnley Grammar School.
Re: What's the walk out music?
Just re read it now and spotted that
Saw them at V98 in Leeds, and let's just say the promoters clearly didn't do any research before they put them on the line up. Evidently thought they were an easy listening pop band on the basis of Tubthumping...

Chimp Eats Banana were the Burnley band. 2 members help later form Chumbawamba in Leeds. Boff and Dan.

Re: What's the walk out music?
I think we should renew jdrobbo's campaign to get Sirius on before the players come out - particularly for night games, with all the LED boards going it could look brilliant.
Re: What's the walk out music?
I think the LED boards coupled with the new music can make it quite an intimidating place to walk out, especially when the crowd are vocal with the stands being right on the pitch.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 8:29 amI think we should renew jdrobbo's campaign to get Sirius on before the players come out - particularly for night games, with all the LED boards going it could look brilliant.

Can't hear it due to the PA system we have. Genuinely not a clue what it could be.
Re: What's the walk out music?
If we're connecting it to the LED boards then maybe we should go 'full' Darude Sandstorm.

I sit in JML, and Clarke Carlisle's interview on the Blackpool game was the first one I've ever managed to hear through the tannoy. How long it will last is anyone's guess!ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 9:08 amCan't hear it due to the PA system we have. Genuinely not a clue what it could be.

Thank you for raising topic - it’s dreadful.
I’ve banged on about having something really exciting as the teams walk out.
My choice is Sirius - Alan Parsons Project. Listen on You tube you won’t be disappointed.

Just a shame that they didn't think to point a camera at him and show it on the screen as well
Re: What's the walk out music?
The Blackpool game Tannoy was the best its been for a long time ... could hear every word of Clarke Carlisles interview ... I commented on the day on here that it was the best its been ... I have been criticising it for ages now...ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 9:08 amCan't hear it due to the PA system we have. Genuinely not a clue what it could be.

I always thought that 'The Alan Parsons Project' was a made up name, but I heard 'Eye in the Sky' today on radio 2.
I don't want to hear it again.

If they played this, I’d expect the match to be preceded with a massive game of 15 to 1, rather than a game of football. It sounds like gameshow music to me.SouthLondonexile wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 12:40 pmThank you for raising topic - it’s dreadful.

Not sure I’d opt for some 90’s euro trance type thing but there’s probably a whole raft of ‘builders’ that’d make a great entrance song.
I’ve said it before - I’d love us to have a song and keep it so that it becomes synonymous with a match at Turf Moor.
Using the LEDs as part of the entrance is a no brainier as long as it’s not some big cheese fest like wolves put on!!

I always prefer something more unique, that’s why I liked Arcade Fire. I don’t think any other clubs walk out to that.SouthLondonexile wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 12:40 pmThank you for raising topic - it’s dreadful.

Sirius is very famous for American Sports, most notably Chicago Bulls
Re: What's the walk out music?
Arcade Fire was brilliant, I only really remember Chawumbawumba and Arcade Fire so the latter was the first one to me that really sounded like a walk out song.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 11:15 pmI always prefer something more unique, that’s why I liked Arcade Fire. However I really do like this seasons, I think it builds into a great atmospheric song and as we go through the darker winter months and myriad of night games I think there's a real opportunity to dim the lights and make the Turf into a moody hostile ground to walk out to.
Anyway, does anybody know the name of our current walk out song yet? Loving the reminiscing but still haven't had an answer.
Re: What's the walk out music?
Never mind, I've just read on YouTube apparently the club produces it's own music now.

For the record, the playing of Clubbed to Death (ominously for us!) at the Etihad on Saturday was brilliant, and that has always been my choice though I fear it would only work in somewhere like the Etihad and may not work at Turf Moor

I love our team to come out to Swords of a Thousand Men by Tenpole Tudor. Oh, and that Van Halen song "Jump" belongs in the dogdirt bin.

I'll stick with my original suggestion https://youtu.be/y6120QOlsfU Could be unbelievably intimidating, particularly if the place falls into silence and darkness 1st. A partisan crowd erupting into noise as this fired up would have me sh1tting it coming out of the tunnel.
Alternatively, but on a similar theme

Re: What's the walk out music?
I don’t agree with a few other posters on here, I think the current walk out music is brilliant. The first time I heard it was against Blackburn and I felt it really built things up nicely. I’d also love to know what it is, and whether it’s two songs they mix in as there’s a lower volume built up, and that changes when the team are walking out

Anything linked to the LED boards makes it about as intimidating as Disneyland tbh. Though the days of “ intimidating “ grounds are surely 30yrs past .

Watford should use Van Halen's jump every time they announce a new manager.
