I don't think you can run around headless chicken style like it's the 80's without screwing up your team's tactics in modern football. Some positions cover loads of ground during a game, others are about timing your movement, and that can mean a fair bit of walking around.

FWIW I don't care enough to have an opinion on gloves/no gloves, just wanted to point out that running around to warm yourself isn't always possible.

I exercise wearing gloves in chilly weather because otherwise my Reynauds-y fingers would go white and hurt like beggary.
