Good. Signing for City would make the PL even less competitive.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 3:17 pmjust read a report that said City went for him and even offered him more money but he has decided he wants to play for Madrid

That would be their best midfield since the early 2000s Galacticos. He’s an incredible talent.

You can’t say that - Casemiro-Modric-Kroos won 5 champions leagues together. All world classMilltown1882 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 5:48 pmThat would be their best midfield since the early 2000s Galacticos. He’s an incredible talent.

Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
Real shame if we don’t get to see Bellingham in the Premier League.
Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
Jude v Grealish
I would take Grealish every time!
I think I would take Zaroury over Bellingham!

Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
£100-£120M for a world class CM that has 15-20 years left in the tank is peanuts.
He has to be careful though not to go the way of Michael Owen, and burn out too soon. There was a scathing article recently which was warning of this, after a picture emerged of Bellingham after a Dortmund game with his upper torso and shoulders heavily strapped.
Going to Madrid, for this reason alone, is the right decision.

As a club why are we not all over this. Lack of ambition if you ask me.
Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
There was a strong argument that he’d been played too much, too soon.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 6:41 pmOwen was due to injuries that eventually took his pace away
It wasn’t an hindsight view either, I well remember the pundits at the time discussing it.
Injuries had their toll but would he have suffered as many injuries had he been used less at such a young age?

Because he was played too much at too young an age.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 6:41 pmOwen was due to injuries that eventually took his pace away

Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
I think we all accept how difficult it is to compare players of different eras, but come on... I'll concede that Zidane might've started regularly and maybe a place on the bench for Figo, but that bunch of second raters were playing at around the same time as Elliott/McCann/O'Connor/Joey

I wonder what sell on % Birmingham have on him?
They must be in for a windfall.

Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
Arguably the most complete footballer in the world. Was always going to Madrid.

Agreed but he should do it the other way round due to the pace of the leagues.

Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
Yes he could but I’d really have preferred to have seen him for (nearly) his whole career rather than just a small part of it. But it’s looking a done deal by all accounts.Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 8:29 pmHe's still only a very young man. Re: Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid?
Being claimed that his release clause at RM will be €1billion/£875 million.
6yr contract
Also, he will be the clubs second highest earner, behind Hazard.

It’s a shame Shebby Singh isn’t still Global Football Advisor at Blackburn; Bellingham is just the kind of player they would be looking at signing.

Ouch!
Saying today that he has rejected a move to man city as he does not want to join a plastic club!
