Fiorentina v Hammers
The British press seem to have WH to edge it 2-1, I've no idea though I'd rather a British club win it.
Re: Fiorentina v Hammers
Yeah, West Ham for me too, why on earth not?

Re: Fiorentina v Hammers
Has there been a European final played in a smaller stadium?
Capacity 19370. Both teams got 5k tickets each. More UEFA nonsense.
Cornet and Ings in the squad and Moyes is sound. So Fiorentina win it is then.

Don't mind who wins really as long as it's a good game. Probably prefer Fiorentina to win, underdogs, and West Ham have a bit of a "look at us, massive club" syndrome about them. Fiorentina fans creating all the atmosphere in the stadium.

Don’t see the point of this competition. It seems likes it’s just for teams that don’t make the Europa League and just stretching it out.
Re: Fiorentina v Hammers
Already fed up having to watch these Michael taking Fiorentina
players.
players.
Re: Fiorentina v Hammers
94,661 average attendance combining the two clubs in 2022/23.
As you say, more UEFA nonsense. They probably didn’t want it at a bigger ground to ensure that Saturday’s final is seen as the cherry on the cake.

I'm all for more opportunities for teams across Europe to play each other. (But not the SuperLeague, obvs)TomSmith xe/xem/xyr wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 8:16 pmDon’t see the point of this competition. It seems likes it’s just for teams that don’t make the Europa League and just stretching it out.
The Champions League is a hegemony, dominated by teams with astronomic wealth. The Conference League (crap name) opens up plenty of vibrant, enthusiastic fanbases across Europe to the chance of continental competition.
It's been more unpredictable than the Champions League.
And who knows, it might be Burnley in a couple of years. Imagine.

Fair play to Fiorentina, they're working hard and are dominating possession. West Ham need to get a bit of a grip. Getting silly with the cups being thrown from the West Ham fans. Stupid.

Pathetic from West Ham. Give Fiorentina the win.

The surprise is that he didn’t roll around on the floor after he was hit. Don’t condone it, but that’s what happens when you left football fans take beers into the view of the playing surface.

No it isn't. Fans in lots of places across Europe drink in the stands and what we saw just now doesn't happen.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 8:36 pmDon’t condone it, but that’s what happens when you left football fans take beers into the view of the playing surface.

Re: Fiorentina v Hammers
As we’ve seen ourselves this season, you don’t have to have fans drinking in the there to have idiots throwing things from the standsbox_of_frogs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 8:36 pmThe surprise is that he didn’t roll around on the floor after he was hit. You disagree with what? You said that is going to happen if you let fans drink in the stands. Fans drink in the stands in Italy and Germany, just two off the top of my head, and it doesn't happen.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 8:47 pmJudging by the number of plastic pots thrown before he was hit, I respectfully disagree.
Re: Fiorentina v Hammers
Not watching this but I wondered how valued this comp would be. Think you might have a point here. A bit more Anglo Scottish Cup or Anglo Italian Cup than a Papa Johns Trophy maybe.Pickles wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 8:24 pmI'm all for more opportunities for teams across Europe to play each other.
