Just looked at that and he actually got 8 goals & 4 assists last season, which isn’t bad at all. I don’t remember it - I thought he’d been pretty quiet.

Only 20 too, which is younger than I expected. Sounds a bit more promising than I thought.
I didn’t realise he was at Norwich first half of the season

Hamer or Ramsey if you could only pick one?
Ramsey, 6 years younger, taller and a higher ceiling.

I think that if there's a question mark over Berge, it's not so much why are Sheff Utd selling, but more why is noone else in for him at £12-15m in a market when Scott McTominay is being touted for £40m. Sheff Utd want every penny for him and clearly they've failed to get an auction going even at a comparatively modest price. If Nixon is right the wages aren't that big a problem for most clubs these days either.

I assume the answer to that is he's had 3 pretty indifferent years at Sheff Utd either playing in the Championship or being relegated, quite possibly playing in a team that have not generally played to his strengths. But still it's a bit of a fall for a player who was being linked with top 6 clubs when he surprisingly landed at Bramall Lane and it does beg the question are we all missing something the professionals are not.
if you speak to Sheff Utd fans, he is a square peg in a round hole for them.

He was at the training ground today, he made a brief appearance on the media access day video.

Agree with all.

Is Ramsey any good. I know Jacob is but I don’t recall Aaron pulling up any trees at Boro? Would be more excited by Hamer.

Don't doubt it. And may well have impacted on his attractiveness to other clubs. But as I said, *if* there's a question mark, it's that.

Villa fans think Aaron is going to be better than his brother Jacob. Most of them seem to think it is a good idea to sell him with a buy back as he won't get game time at Villa.

Didn't Berge spit his dummy out as Sheff Utd were asking too much for him when teams came in? I don't think he has been very happy since then so has just run his contract down. He will probably be better in a Kompany team as the ball is on the floor more than he is used to.

Has there been any sign of exists for Bastien, Egan-Riley and Churlinov? Wouldn't be surprised to see them sent off on loan or perm in Churlinov and Bastien's cases

If we pass on Souza to guarantee Berge then it's a good deal. Berge is proven in the PL and has the experience we need.

Gnonto would be signing of the summer but he would surely cost about £25m. Surely no chance whatsoever, surely!!?

McGrath knows his stuff but I just cannot see us having the cash.

We were linked with Summerville a few days ago. Gnonto was linked with other PL clubs over a week ago but he’s still at DL.

I saw something earlier in the window that suggested Gnonto had a similar clause in his contract to Rodrigo.

So maybe this could be relatively cheap?

I imagine he would want pretty substantial wages though

So we will have Redmond, Zaroury, Larson and Gnonto all for the left wing slot.

I really do not know what the plan is at all. Unless VK sees him as weghorsts replacement. I noticed he’s played a handful of games as a CF

Wasn’t there that rumour of lots of Leeds players having a clause in their contract that they could leave on loan if there were relegated?

Not sure if there was any substance in it but 5 players have left on loan this window.

With what we have already recruited, and the (firm) rumours, we will have spent in excess of £100 million. And this does not include salaries. This is Burnley, what's going on?

I presume the plan is to spend lots of money this summer on players with potentially high ceilings in the hope we put a team together for the next few years. If the (risky) plan comes off, we shouldn't need to spend anything like as much in the next couple of summers, it should just be a matter of adding a handful to complement an already strong team.

The strategy almost certainly envisions some big sales. I don't think that will happen this summer, but definitely over the next few years. We've signed and have been linked with lots of players around the 18-10 age, so I would imagine the plan is that when a big sale is made, we have players already at the club who can step up. Brighton employ a very similar ethos, although they've grown theirs over many years now.

It's thinking like we've never seen at Burnley before, though, no doubt about that. It's scary and exciting in equal measure.

What’s all this nonsense about benson going.
He’s had an injury - the bloke isn’t going anywhere. Why would we sell him now - he’d be worth bugger all compared to how good we know he can be after a decent season this year…

I'll ask the question I asked a few days ago.

Is there still anyone who truly believes we will be in the relegation dogfight?

We have Vincent, (The Pied Pep Piper of Burnley), Kompany.

I think Kompany and Pace are very much looking high up the table. Got a hunch that Pace thinks European football is achievable sooner rather than later and they're throwing a bit at it while we have the momentum of last season. Like I say, just a vague theory but some some things have been said in interviews which makes me think a relegation fight has barely even been considered.

I'll ask the question I asked a few days ago.

Is there still anyone who truly believes we will be in the relegation dogfight?

We have Vincent, (The Pied Pep Piper of Burnley), Kompany.
I’d take 17th right now.

Before Pep signed Haaland and Alvarez City went a couple of years where almostall their attackers were wingers or converted wingers and it worked. Possibly VK is going down that route.

Like most weĺl run businesses we are borrowing money to buy assets which we intend to increase in value and sell at a profit. It's not a certain bet but with inteĺligent management should work. I expect it to be successful and entertaining. If not BFS.
