In a similar vein, there was an article when we played them early in the 2009/10 season highlighting that City were paying a Brazilian lad - Robiniho I think? - more than Burnley's combined salary bill for every member of staff in the club; as I recall he wasn't even much good.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
He wasn't even in the squad last night. Let it go.

No he wasn't. It is nonetheless an opinion. Whether you disagree or agree, it is a justified comment. Excellent defender. Not the best going forward but not the worst either.

Not sure I agree.
He’s always been just steady in my opinion. There’s a reason no premier league clubs are remotely interested in him.

Some big teams in for lukebakio this window so he must have something about him.
Still hoping for a quality full back and Lokonga

I for one think Charlie Taylor is a much better left back than the right-footed Vitinho. Irrespective of whether Charlie is good enough to play there every week for us now, I don't think it's an unusual opinion to say Taylor might have been a better call at left back last night.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 3:49 pmNot sure I agree.

For me our weakness last night was Vitinho at left back and Foster playing left-wing almost, two players for me - not in their strongest positions. City's first two goals both came down that left hand side.

Surely not as slow as Ekdal aka "the Snail"ClaretInLeeds wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 9:48 amWhat struck me last night was how slow Vitinho was. I’m not convinced he is any quicker than Charlie Taylor.

I thought Ekdal looked a bit faster in the friendlies.

Strangely I have the complete opposite opinion. I think Foster was arguably our best player coming from the left.whiffa wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 4:39 pmI for one think Charlie Taylor is a much better left back than the right-footed Vitinho. I’m not sure Taylor would have been a better fit. He is so limited technically, that he would have struggled to make the passes and play the role Vitinho was asked to do.
I thought in the middle section of the park Vitinho actually wasn’t bad on the ball.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Was really surprised to see Vitinho starting considering he was largely average last season, and yes, for me, Charlie Taylor is a far better player.

Incredibly naive sweeping comment. Wonder why VK went out of his way to sign him? He appears to choose 'snail like' players for his squad.

I have never thought him slow............it's everyone else who keeps saying it.
I love him & can't wait to see him in the premier league.

I have a feeling that we may not see Aaron Ramsey for another 2 weeks after our game against Aston Villa.

I would imagine we would walk away from the deal if Villa tried that. City didn’t do it with TraffordDarnhill Claret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 6:17 pmI have a feeling that we may not see Aaron Ramsey for another 2 weeks after our game against Aston Villa.

Didn't Mahrez do us on the right wing fairly regularly against Charlie Taylor? It's not a criticism of our players, just how Man City choose to exploit us.

Suggestions that signing not imminent. Medical suggests otherwise.

Not sure what the delay with Ramsey is, but Kompany and Emery both as good as announced it on Thursday.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Ramsey was at the game last night, my assumption was it had been announced or was about to be or I’d have taken a photo. Pulled up in a massive black Merc behind the Jimmy Mac.
To be clear, this is not even a ‘it could have been..’ job this - it categorically, 100% was Aaron Ramsey.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
The official announcement can only be a technicality at this point. As someone said above, both managers announced the transfer the other day.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 7:05 pmRamsey was at the game last night, my assumption was it had been announced or was about to be or I’d have taken a photo. The opposite was true for Townsend. When VK spoke, he said Townsend wasn’t joining.

Of course.roperclaret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 7:28 pmI think the point is, that regardless of whether a player has had a successful medical, even if a fee has been agreed, it’s not a done deal until the contract is signed.
We all hope Ramsey will be officially announced very soon or we will have to wonder. I’m not worried just yet.
